Marbling Workshop at Charleston

Published by Leonard and Virginia Woolf at the Hogarth Press in 1926.
Marbled paper wrappers made by Roger Fry or Virginia Woolf.

On the 1st December 2011 I'll be leading a paper marbling workshop at Charleston:

Paper Marbling with Anna Fewster
Thursday 1 December 10am – 4pm
£75 includes all materials and artisan lunch

Join book artist Anna Fewster to learn the traditional method of floating watercolour paints on carageenan to make exquisite marbled papers. Taking inspiration from marbled designs at Charleston you will experiment with pattern and colour to create your own intricate and unique designs. At the end of the day you will have a selection of papers to take home ready for use in bookbinding, collage and card making.

Othello - A Bestiary (With Floral Additions)

Lately I've been busy with Borbonesa, working on Othello - A Bestiary (With Floral Additions). Tomorrow is the first of two parties to launch the concertina bookwork, which is a wordless reworking of William Shakespeare's Othello as an illustrated collection of common, rare and fabulous animals.

I contributed a foreword to the bookwork, which is illustrated by Ian Whitmore.

Yesterday I printed the cover wrappers during a workshop with students at
Portsmouth University:
